Compensation Specialist

Credit Suisse is seeking a Compensation Specialist to join the global Compensation, Benefits & Payroll team in the People function. This role is a compensation subject matter expert who will be involved in ensuring effective and efficient services, reporting, analysis, and support of Global/Regional/Divisional projects in the Compensation organization.


The candidate will need to understand a nuanced compensation structure that is continually adapting to changing regulations and firm-wide initiatives. This role will also support the migration to a new Compensation system as part of a broader People function initiative to transform data management.


You will build and develop relationships with key stakeholders such as People, Legal, Payroll and

Financial Control supporting each with your subject matter expertise and providing analytics in support of policy and decision making across a range of strategic deliverables.

Your skills and experience

A compensation subject matter expert with strong qualitative and analytical skills

  • 3-5 years of experience working with compensation / financial data
  • Knowledge of VBA and SQL preferred
  • Ability to facilitate change management through stakeholder engagement and training
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (In particular mastery of Excel including using complex formulas to analyze data)
  • Proven ability to manage problems and take initiative to deliver solutions that are fit for purpose
  • Hardworking, results-oriented individual with attention to details, strong work ethic and an organized approach to managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines
  • Ability to implement strong process controls to ensure effective and efficient utilization while minimizing risk
  • Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal. Proven ability to manage work well under pressure
  • Integrity to handle extremely confidential information - being discreet, proactive, resourceful and flexible
  • A university degree or equivalent education
  • Proficiency in Human Resource information management systems is desirable but not essential
  • Prior experience within a financial services industry is desirable but not essential
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive culture and value diverse perspectives
