Job Description:

The Call of Duty League is a global, world-class esports ecosystem designed from the ground up to ensure that teams and players can thrive for years to come, and that fans have the best experience possible. The Call of Duty League melds Activision Blizzard’s experience in esports with best practices of time-honored traditional sports.

The Coordinator, Competition Ops, will primarily manage operations for Call of Duty esports path to pro competitions and any escalations but may also support operations for all other Call of Duty esports competitions. This role will coordinate and execute with our operational partners for the Call of Duty Challengers programs including Challengers open events This role will also manage rankings throughout the season and administer cutoffs, finalizing competition qualification, and schedules.

This role will report into the Manager, Competition Ops.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operations of Call of Duty amateur circuits, including event preparation and execution as it relates to competition operations
  • Assist in the operations of all Call of Duty esports competitions and various other exhibition competitions
  • Assist in designing competitive systems and formats focused on delivering the best experience to players and spectators
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of rules and regulations for all programs
  • Compile tournament and program status reports for various cross-functional partners
  • Assist in prizing and travel accommodations needs as it relates to competitions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years’ experience in esports or live event management
  • High level of proficiency and understanding of competition operations including, tournament scheduling, player registration, brackets, and seeding
  • Outstanding written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel is required
  • Passion for video games, and solid understanding of esports

Pluses

  • Experience in game or entertainment company
  • Experience in project management, talent management, and travel management

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Santa Monica, CA.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $21.63 - $40.02 Hourly. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
