Compiler Technical Lead Manager

Job Description:

As Compiler Technical Lead Manager, you will be responsible for defining the compiler architecture, providing input into hardware architectural decisions, and developing compiler optimizations for the Celestial AI Machine Learning accelerator. The Hardware and Instruction Set Architecture (ISA) are driven from a Compiler perspective with the goal of rapidly delivering full functionality and performance across a broad spectrum of ML models with minimal Compiler complexity. The compiler design flow is iterative and fast-paced.

You will provide strategic and technical leadership for the compiler team. Responsibilities include recruiting world class talent, setting technical direction, driving compiler planning/execution, reporting performance/efficiency metrics, and meeting compiler product milestones. You will work closely with our internal ML Developer, ML Ops, Architecture, ASIC, and Product teams to define and deliver to the compiler roadmap. This leadership role is highly visible in the company and involves interfacing with customers and investors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and maintain the optimizing compiler for Celestial AI ML accelerators
• Expand compiler scope to reflect ever changing landscape of ML constructs and models
• Benchmark and analyze output produced by optimizing compiler
• Mentor junior compiler engineers and collaborate with senior compiler engineers on the team
• Work with HW teams and architects to drive improvements in architecture and SW compiler

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience in compilers for data parallel architectures
• Experience with the Apache TVM Hardware Backend codebase and workflow for custom code generators
• 2+ years of experience in the field of compilers for Machine Learning inference models, preferred
• A strong technical understanding of ML, the targeted applications, AI trends, and HW accelerator landscape, preferred
• Effective communicator and comfortable engaging directly with customers

For California location:

As an early startup experiencing explosive growth, we offer an extremely attractive total compensation package, inclusive of competitive base salary and a generous grant of our valuable early-stage equity. The target base salary for this role is approximately $175,000.00 - $225,000.00. The base salary offered may be slightly higher or lower than the target base salary, based on the final scope as determined by the depth of the experience and skills demonstrated by candidate in the interviews.
