Compliance Analyst

The compliance analyst will be responsible for working on regulatory compliance issues, primarily focusing on insurance document preparation and review; research, investigations, fact checking; and general compliance related support as necessary, pertaining to Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company. The compliance analyst will also track and monitor regulatory and procedure changes to Company personnel, and will assist with reviews of Company procedures and implementing changes.
This position can be hybrid in Omaha, NE or remote within the U.S.
Job Responsibilities
  • Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to compliance team.
  • Notifies Company personnel of form and procedure changes, including written instructions for implementing the changes.
  • Assists with the drafting of legal documents including subpoena responses, affidavits, and responses to consumer complaints.
  • Files new or revised forms or other policy-related data requests with state insurance departments.
  • Reviews and updates the relevant Company forms and legal databases and policy construction guidelines.
  • Revises Company filings to comply with new or revised state laws.
  • Develops and maintains reporting on compliance matters.
  • Maintains various organizational and reference spreadsheets as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Slack, and related software.
Required Knowledge:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Insurance terminology
  • Insurance industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint
