HonorHealth is a non-profit, local community healthcare system serving an area of 1.6 million people in the greater Phoenix area. Qualifications: Education
Bachelor's Degree Required

Experience
3 years working in a compliance officer or compliance support function. Experience in a revenue cycle, coding, healthcare operations, risk management or legal role beneficial. Required

Licenses and Certifications
Other Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC) (or willingness to obtain within one year of hire). Required

Responsibilities: Job Summary
Oversees the implementation and management of Compliance Program in assigned hospital(s) and/or service line(s). This position serves in a leadership capacity to provide education and training on compliance topics and initiatives, audit and monitor key compliance risks, investigate reported compliance matters, ensure open lines of communication on compliance matters, participate in system-wide compliance initiatives and provide technical and professional compliance expertise and advice to leadership, regional support teams, employees, committees and other affiliates regarding current and emerging federal, state and local and internal health care compliance-related issues consistent with HonorHealth's Compliance Program.
  • Investigates reported or identified compliance/privacy matters received through independent surveillance efforts, reports through direct contact from others or through the Compliance Hotline system. Oversees all investigative processes including interviews with key witnesses or subject matter experts; identifies and coordinates corrective action and documents efforts in the compliance matters tracking system for ongoing reporting.
  • Provides education and training to management, employees, departments, teams, physicians, contractors on key compliance/privacy matters and topics through written published materials, in-person presentations, small group discussions or e-mail communications as necessary to the topic in question.
  • Conducts audits or engages in monitoring activities to evaluate the ongoing compliance of key compliance/privacy risks as identified through the risk assessment process, government enforcement efforts, reported concerns, etc. Maintains appropriate documentation of such auditing and monitoring efforts and reports as appropriate to management.
  • Builds, maintains and fosters optimal working relations with senior and mid-level management, employees, physicians and contractors to ensure open lines of communication in support of a collaborative dialogue on compliance risk. Attends team meetings, department huddles, key leadership/management meetings, and one-on-one meetings to establish awareness of possible compliance risks and to serve as a trusted resource to all constituents on compliance matters. Serves as the primary contact for compliance/privacy in assigned hospital(s) and/or serviced line(s).
  • Maintains competency and skills through research and study of industry periodicals, newsletters, journals; attends conferences locally and nationally as appropriate, participates in webinars, etc.
  • Assists in the annual compliance risk assessment process.
