In this role...

The day-to-day involves every aspect of production. We need someone who is comfortable in-studio and on-location and who can both run-and-gun and follow a detailed shot list. Adobe software proficiency is a must; the more enthusiastic you are about keyboard shortcuts, the better. Your success will be based on your ability to fulfill three primary functions in this position:

1) As a storyteller, you convey substance and meaning when you bring your vision to life. You’re skilled at translating complex information into accessible and engaging visual formats.

2) As a client advocate focused on providing excellent service, you infuse your creativity to meet project objectives without compromising quality or attention to detail.

3) As a member of the Public Outreach team, you’re open-minded, adaptable, and collaborative. Like the rest of the team, you are dedicated to your craft and willingly roll up your sleeves.

  • Pre-Production: Designs visual multimedia projects for distribution on multiple platforms, integrating video content, graphics, animation, photography, and illustrations. Assists in creation of mood boards, scripts, diagrams, and storyboards.
  • Pre-Production: Prepares and plans shoots to capture video, record audio, and create photographs. Performs location scouting, set planning and talent casting. Produces or assists in development of equipment checklists, detailed shot lists, release forms and other necessary production aids. At times will be responsible for directing shoots unsupervised with the use of independent judgment.
  • Production: Transports video or photo production-related equipment to and from locations. This includes on-location equipment setups and breakdowns. Configures, adjusts, and operates professional camera equipment such as cinema cameras, DSLR and mirrorless cameras, constant and strobe lighting kits, microphones, monopods, tripods, and sliders to obtain desired footage or photographs.
  • Post-Production: Reviews and prepares multimedia files for production. Performs video and photo post-production using computer-assisted software such as Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe Photoshop. Work involves assembly, editing, retouching, color correction, sound mixing, graphics and animation and file compression.
  • Maintains production equipment and media libraries.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.

You are a fit for this role if you are…

  • A self-starter who can be productive both independently and as part of a team
  • Solution-oriented; barriers are just unsolved problems you are unafraid to decode
  • Willingly resourceful and responsive
  • Committed to excellence but don’t hide behind perfectionism
  • Results-oriented yet mindful of the bigger picture
  • Respectful of your colleagues and their work; you deliver and receive critique with class
  • Humble and service-oriented; there’s no job too small
  • A perceptive team player who builds others up; their success is your success
  • A professional who knows how to deliver, have a good time and when to take a break

How your work fits in:
