Computer Support Specialist

Job Description

The computer support specialist position will provide technical support to University Advancement's faculty and staff while serving as the liaison to Business Operations regarding IT fixed assets. The incumbent will have duties to include: basic support for departmental computing devices; routine upkeep, maintenance, and supply of workgroup printers, copiers, and fax machines; communication of needs to the Director of Systems Administration and Technology Support; monitoring of incoming service requests and ensure appropriate escalations are performed; and maintaining proper documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience troubleshooting and maintaining personal computers running business applications such as Microsoft Office.
• Previous experience providing technical support in person or by telephone.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others.
• Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and be detail oriented.
• Demonstrated ability to be responsible, reliable and professional.
• Must be able to lift 25lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining confidentiality while working with sensitive information.
• Demonstrated experience with computer imaging technologies.
• Demonstrated experience with maintaining laser copiers/printers.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining Apple iOS and other mobile devices.
• Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining technical documentation.
