Overview:The role of the Occupational Health Nurse is to aid in establishing and maintaining safe work environments for various employees. With careful guidance and supervision, the nurse's primary focus is centered around health prevention and restoration, ensuring safety from environmental hazards and reducing the likelihood of illness or injury.Responsibilities:This involves evaluating the requirements of the workforce and recognizing effective measures for optimal health and injury prevention through primary and secondary health promotion strategies.It is important to thoroughly record assessments, treatments, outcomes, work and disability status, screenings, and educational offerings.As an aid, I aid in conducting health screenings and evaluations (including but not limited to post-offer physical examinations, wellness screenings, audiometric testing, vision screening, bloodborne pathogen exposure care, follow-up, and drug screening) to recognize and observe any potential threats to the employee's health.Provides benefits and resources that encourage the improvement of employee health and well-being.Effectively relays relevant health-related details to the organization in a prompt and polished fashion, such as updates on work-related injuries, return to work readiness, and drug screen and laboratory test outcomes.The organization strives to keep comprehensive and succinct health records of its employees, in accordance with the regulations and legislation specified by the department, the corporate entity, and any other relevant standards.Protects and secures the privacy of an employee's medical data and health records.Other responsibilities may be carried out as deemed fit or allocated.Qualifications:EDUCATION:Required:• Associate Degree in NursingPreferred:• Bachelor's degree in NursingEXPERIENCE:• No prior experience requiredLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIREDRequired:Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or a Compact state; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
