Responsibilities:
The assessment and support of preferable pharmacotherapy
Directs and assesses the functions executed by Pharmacy Technicians who are responsible for dispensing medicines for both hospitalized and ambulatory clients
Dispenses and tracks utilization of medication and provides pertinent drug-related information to healthcare providers, clients, and the general public.
Medication reviews can identify potential issues with a patient's medication regimen, including duplicate therapies, incorrect dosages, and side effects.
Assumes the responsibility of a mentor and an exemplary figure for pharmacy staff, including trainees, residents, and pharmacists, by sharing knowledge and experience.
Qualifications:
Bachelors, Pharmacy, Required
Doctorate, Pharmacy, Preferred
BS Pharmacy or PharmD degree required; PharmD degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in patient assessment and dispensing required.
Preferred:
PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency accredited by ASHP.
PGY2 Pharmacy Practice Residency accredited by ASHP.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
• RPH | Registered Pharmacist
• BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
• Current active license to practice pharmacy in North Carolina preferred.
• If not currently licensed, must be eligible to obtain North Carolina pharmacy license within 2 months of hire date.
