Registered Dietitian - Inpatient

Overview:The Dietitian Registered plays a crucial role in Cone Health by providing individualized medical nutrition therapy to patients and residents. This job involves conducting assessments of patients and tracking their progress to measure the impact of nutrition interventions, resulting in better health outcomes.Talent Pool: Allied HealthResponsibilities:Conducts comprehensive nutrition evaluations and accurately records results using the Nutrition Care Process.The principles of the Nutrition Focused Physical Exam can be harnessed to pinpoint malnutrition and/or micronutrient deficiencies in patients.Leverages order-writing capabilities to initiate and administer nutrition support. Provides vital nutritional expertise to department and organizational staff, providing mentorship to dietetic interns and nutrition pupils.Measures personal knowledge, abilities and skills to devise strategies for personal development and goal-setting.Takes part in initiatives designed to improve the quality of care provided by the clinical nutrition team.Undertakes supplementary duties as directed.Qualifications:EDUCATION:Required:• Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related fieldEXPERIENCE:Required:• 0-1 years in clinical nutrition following pre-professional experienceLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIREDRequired:BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare ProviderCertification as a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN) as issued by the Commission on Dietetic RegistrationANDLicensure as a Dietitian/Nutritionist as issued by the North Carolina Board of Dietetics/Nutrition (NCBDN)ORcompletion of a Supervised Practice Program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) as evidenced by an original Verification Statement supplied by the Program Director in a color ink other than black and dated within the previous 12 months.PLUSA provisional license from the North Carolina Board of Dietetics/Nutrition (NCBDN) must be obtained prior to starting employment in conjunction with the original verification statement.The incumbent must become registered and licensed within 6 months of employment.Preferred: Cortrak certification
