RN Cardiac PCU Part Time

Overview:In accordance with the NC Nurse Practice Act, nursing staff must provide individualized care to patients of all ages, from neonatal to geriatric. This involves assessing patient needs, planning interventions, implementing and documenting care, organizing priorities, delegating assignments, supervising staff, and coordinating with other healthcare providers to ensure seamless care delivery.Responsibilities:The nurse employs the nursing process to provide care, which involves gathering and analyzing patient and pertinent data. They implement admission assessments and ongoing appraisals in collaboration with patients, their kins, and health care experts. For each patient, a tailored care scheme is designed, taking into account their specific age-related needs. The nurse discovers any diversions from the protocol and performs obligatory modifications based on the practicality of nursing cures. They sustain a comprehensive record of all documentation and update all concerned parties. The nurse also takes an active role in identifying the home health care necessities for discharge planning, watches over patients' conditions for changes, and applies their advanced skills and critical thinking in their everyday tasks. Additionally, they pinpoint and address the learning necessities of patients and their kin.Creates personalized strategies that cater to individual demands concerning diversity, cultural differences, or other distinctive variables.This person recognizes the importance of evidence-based practice, research, and quality improvement in the workplace. They play an active role in their department's Shared Governance council either as a member or by staying informed and endorsing decisions.They strive to optimize their department's performance using a combination of Quality Improvement (QI), Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), and Research strategies. Their resource management abilities enable them to identify and eliminate inefficiencies in the department's operations. They collect and evaluate data related to QI, EBP, and research activities, working with their colleagues to understand the key takeaways from their analyses. They then translate these insights into practical action plans, which they integrate into their daily workflows. They also maintain compliance with regulatory requirements established by The Joint Commission (TJC), the Department of Financial Services (DFS), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).Collaborates with other team members in maintaining a high standard of service delivery, and provides support and guidance as needed to ensure the provision of excellent care for patients.Demonstrates the capacity to effectively manage disagreements, promoting an atmosphere that recognizes the importance of acceptable behavior and professional relationships.Qualifications:EDUCATION:Required:Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)Preferred:Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)EXPERIENCE:Required:New RN Graduates: Acceptance into Cone Health New Graduate program or completion of an acute care new graduate program.Preferred:Experienced RN : One year of Acute Care RN experience is preferred. Hiring leader may consider other RN experience at their discretion.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIREDRN | Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or a Compact state.BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare ProviderPREFERREDThe following certifications are preferred and may be required within a certain timeframe of hire as defined by the specific nursing unit.• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)• Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN)• Safe Training and Responsible Restraints (STARR)
