Overview:As directed by the NC Nurse Practice Act, evaluate, formulate a plan, implement, document, coordinate, prioritize, delegate, supervise, and synchronize the medical care provided to patients from the neonatal period to late adulthood.Responsibilities:Provides nursing care via the nursing process for the development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. Collects and analyzes patient/significant other data. Completes an admission database and ongoing assessment to include collaboration with patients, significant others and other health care providers. Implements a plan of care for each patient (utilizing clinical pathways where applicable) and individualizes to meet the age specific needs of patients/significant others. Identifies variances and makes adjustments in the plan of care based on evaluation of the plan and effectiveness of nursing interventions. Documents and updates the plan of care, nursing care, nursing interventions and patient response to care, and keeps healthcare team, patients and significant other informed. Contributes to the discharge plan by identifying homecare needs. Recognizes changes in patients' conditions and revises the plan of care appropriately. Demonstrates advanced competencies and critical thinking skills in day to day practice. Identifies and implements educational needs for patients/significant others.Demonstrates empathy and sensitivity towards the patient and significant others by understanding cultural diversity and unique variables, altogether creating individualized plans to promote positive treatment outcomes.Collects data for QI/EBP/Research and supports the analysis of the data and action plan development for bringing changes into practice. Gets involved in activities to ensure the adherence to regulatory standards (TJC, DFS, OSHA).Takes on the role of a leader and mentor to guide other team members in their professional growth.Exhibits commendable conflict resolution skills that facilitate the achievement of mutually acceptable agreements. Supports an enabling work environment marked by positivity, solidarity, and effectiveness. Shows a commitment to treating all persons with dignity, respect, and appreciation for their unique attributes.Qualifications and Education:• The demand for nurses with ADN degrees remains strong, as healthcare continues to be a growing industry• In addition to traditional classroom instruction, students in a BSN program may also have the opportunity to participate in research projects and internships that allow them to gain hands-on experience and develop practical skillsEXPERIENCE:• If you have just finished your RN course or an acute care new graduate program, then you meet the requirements for Cone Health's New Graduate program.• The primary preference for this position is an RN with acute care experience, but the hiring manager may still evaluate candidates with other types of RN experience.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIREDAs stated by North Carolina or any of its Compact states, an RN licensed nurse is required for employment.BLS (CPR) certification can be completed by attending a training program from either the American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare ProviderPREFERREDCertain nursing units might prefer or require specific certifications, with a specified timeframe for obtaining them post-hire.• Health care providers who provide ACLS interventions must have a thorough understanding of the underlying cardiovascular anatomy and physiology• The PALS certification is valid for two years and requires ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in pediatric resuscitation• The NRP is recognized globally as the standard of care for neonatal resuscitation, with courses delivered in over 140 countries• The CCRN certification is recognized as a benchmark of excellence and proficiency in critical care nursing• The STARR program is committed to ongoing training and continuing education for participants in order to ensure that they are up-to-date on the latest techniques and best practices for crisis intervention
