This role is pivotal in the development of a world-class GTS organization, providing legal advice and counseling on trade laws and regulations, with a focus on customs, export controls, and economic sanctions. The successful candidate will be responsible for legal oversight on trade matters in the Americas, including the US, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Brazil, and must have a deep understanding of US customs and trade remedies law. Key responsibilities include conducting trade compliance risk assessments, monitoring regulatory changes, and steering interactions with government regulators. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to the success of a diverse, global team, and possess the competencies of building effective teams, motivating others, and managing work with a strong set of values. The role demands a professional with at least 7 years' of experience in trade controls and policy, the ability to work in a global environment, and a strong commitment to integrity, accountability, and teamwork. Applicants for the Senior Counsel position at the company should have a background that includes a mix of law firm and in-house or government experience, and a proven track record of dealing with complex trade law issues.
