Summary:Join a global leader in automotive innovation, dedicated to pushing boundaries and advancing the future of mobility. As a Trade and Export Compliance Officer, you will be essential to our R&D program, providing key support to the Supply Chain and Procurement teams.Candidates with hands-on experience in aviation, especially in VTOL, UAV, or eVTOL projects, as well as those with backgrounds in automotive or transportation industries, will be given top priority.This position is fully remote, with work hours aligned to PST, Monday through Friday.Responsibilities:• Collaborate with the Trade Compliance Lead, Division Manager, engineering teams, Legal, Leadership and other relevant teams to develop and implement export control procedures and tools.• Conduct Export Classification determinations (Commodity, Technology/Technical Data, Software) and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications in compliance with both US and international regulations.• Manage international logistics for import/export processes and build strong relationships with third-party service providers.• Draft, manage, and oversee export licenses.• Advise and guide functional teams on software, technology marking, technology transfer, reporting, and other administrative requirements for export and import compliance.• Provide training, mentoring, and communication forums, and maintain site metrics to ensure effective implementation of internal controls.• Interpret and provide guidance on regulatory areas including Anti-boycott/Restrictive Trade Practices, Export Control Classification, Compliance Training, Export Documentation, Tariff Classification, Sanctions, and Embargoes.• Advise management and business partners on the implementation and operation of complex compliance programs to ensure alignment with legal and regulatory standards.• Collaborate with IT to ensure compliance with federal export control regulations governing technology, data, and materials transferred from the US to foreign entities.• Assist with audits to evaluate export compliance and implement corrective actions as needed.• Domestic travel required: 5-10%.Required Skills:• 5-10+ years of trade compliance experience.• Expertise in FCPA and CFIUS regulations.• Proficient in US import, export, licensing regulations, EAR, ITAR, and their exemptions/exceptions.• Practical experience within the aerospace industry, with a strong preference for VTOL, eVTOL, and UAV projects• Outstanding capability to effectively collaborate within a diverse, global team.• Ability to address and resolve typical compliance issues and adapt to changing priorities.• Proficient in MS Office Suite.• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Duration: 3+ yearsLocation: Remote (must be willing to work PST hours)Travel: 5-10% domesticType: Contract
