Congressional Reporter

POLITICO is seeking high-impact reporters to join our congressional reporting team, a group of journalists with a long track record of dominating coverage of Capitol Hill. The team’s most successful reporters have non-stop motors and finely tuned political antennas — people who are driven to beat the competition, whether it’s ferreting out the leadership’s next move or pinpointing tensions between factions that determine who wields power and what gets done. We want reporters with more story ideas than they have time to write — and can execute the best ones.

What you'll need:

  • A track record of reporting and writing smart, sophisticated stories that beat the competition and drive the conversation
  • An established ability to write clearly and accurately on deadline, both breaking news and broader enterprise stories
  • Proven ability to handle a demanding, fast-moving reporting job.
