Sales & Client Services works with financial intermediaries and institutions to offer diversified investment solutions that help clients build and preserve their wealth
Business Development is a conduit to the firm’s investment teams and supports our clients and internal business partners through investment-platform and product content, messaging, competitive analysis and education
Product Strategy & Development designs, develops and manages the firm’s global lineup of investment services and considers clients’ evolving needs to identify new opportunities
Marketing promotes the firm and its services by creating, packaging and distributing content and messaging to engage diverse audiences through digital platforms and initiatives, strategic campaigns, and events
What You' ll Do:
This Consultant Relation professional works both independently and as part of a regional and global team to manage our overall relationships across the various regional, national, and global consulting firms who advise our clients and prospects. The role requires strategy design and implementation associated with servicing clients in common with consultants as well as developing additional consultant advocacy and growing the relationships.
The design and implementation of such strategies should align our investment capabilities and research insights with the philosophical beliefs of the various consultancies under coverage, their clients, and the institutional marketplace at large.
Key attributes required for this role include proactive outbound engagement including travel that can be extensive across North America, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, high attention to detail and sensitivity to deadlines. The candidate should possess a strong knowledge of the asset management industry, the capital markets, and a wide variety of traditional and alternative investment strategies. The successful candidate will not only be able to manage and grow our relationships with our external consulting partners but also be able to manage relationships across our various internal investment teams, the various teams within the Client Group including our Advisors who work directly with our clients.
What We're Looking For:
Technical Skills:
Degree educated and/or equivalent experience within the asset management industry
Highly organized and detail-oriented with demonstrated strategic planning and execution skills
Deep understanding of the Institutional channel and proven track record of successfully growing brand and assets globally with national and global consulting firms
Ability to grasp technical elements of a wide variety of investment strategies, both traditional and alternative, and convey the features and benefits to our external stakeholders
Excellent understanding of the institutional consulting landscape and processes
10-15+ years of experience in the investment industry, preferably in a consultant relations role
Advanced degree or certifications preferred
Personal Skills:
Self-motivated and disciplined about setting and achieving objectives and meeting deadlines with limited oversight
Possess leadership qualities such that they can work independently and collaborate as part of a team depending on the resources required to achieve the objective
Able to raise the internal profile of the consultant relations team
An idea generator and thought leader with the ability to bring trends from the market internally for development
Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Prime Functions
Consultant Relations:
Manage the day-to-day relationships with the institutional consultants in North America with the objective of cultivating support for our product suite and strengthening the AllianceBernstein brand.
Build advocacy for our investment strategies and research insights across the various stakeholders within the consulting firms including the executive, research and the field teams.
Coordinating with Global Consultant Relations Team to ensure consistency in product messaging and execution of global strategy.
Identifying market trends and potential new business opportunities through regular dialogue with their coverage and report back to colleagues in the Client Group and the Investments Teams.
Conduct regular S.W.O.T analysis for existing services and new product initiatives to help prioritize new business activity.
Contribute to progressing business development opportunities for existing and prospective clients for AllianceBernstein products across all asset classes by providing product and messaging support to the Institutional Sales Team.
Develop and maintain marketing/sales campaigns, in conjunction with Sales Team, for all product opportunities.
Contribute to strategy and business development projects on an as need basis.

Base Salary Range: $150,000.00 to $200,000.00
Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base salary is just one component of total compensation at AB, which may include, depending on eligibility, commissions, year-end incentive compensation, short- and long-term incentives and Department-specific awards.
