Content Design Intern (Summer '23)

Being a part of the AddeU Internship Program, you will be working on a meaningful project(s) that you can feel proud of and present back to the company at the end of the experience. In addition to having a supporting manager and mentor, we have a fantastic onboarding program to get you acclimated and ready for your time with us. Fun events and super cool swag are also included!

At the moment, our 12 week internship experience is remote. Dates are currently set for May - August, 2023 but please advise your recruiter. Seeking US and Canadian students only.

The Role

We're looking for a curious, collaborative, and creative Content Design Intern to join our Design Department. The Design Department at Addepar crafts modern, elevated, easy-to-use products that empower our clients in their day-to-day financial activities. We promote an agile, client-centered work environment, and champion constructive feedback and collaboration.

In this role, you'll help us expand content standards for how we write in and about Addepar products. Key topics include standards for UI components and experiences and preferred terminology. You'll get hands-on experience researching and crafting standards foundational to most content design teams. You'll also be able to learn from and collaborate with hard-working design experts who are eager to help.

This role is within the Product organization and collaborates with product management, design, and engineering. This is not a content marketing role.

Addepar takes a market-based approach to pay. A successful candidate's starting pay will be
determined based on the role, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base salary for roles in Colorado, California, and New York.

The current range for this role is $55/hr.

What You'll Do

• Research other design systems. Identify patterns and strategies we should incorporate.
• Conduct productive working sessions with other content designers and the design system team.
• Develop clear and effective content standards that elevate our brand voice.
• Influence the organization and layout of our design system.
• Clearly articulate and document your strategy and rationale: the how and the why.
• Regularly share your ideas and solicit feedback on your work.
• Manage your time well. Speak up when you'd like more autonomy or mentorship.
• Make recommendations for how to prioritize future considerations.
• Present your final work to the Design Department at the end of your internship.

Who You Are

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution located in the United States or Canada, and returning after the internship. Working towards a degree in a related field.
• Available to intern for the full 12 weeks.
• An inspiring portfolio that showcases your design thinking and recommendations.
• Passionate about language and the world of content design.
• Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills.
• Familiar with design systems. Quick to spot patterns and themes.
• Able to thrive in a high-growth, virtual environment. Welcomes some ambiguity.
