The Content Management department at HarperCollins Publishers is seeking an Assistant to work on the composition and development of both print and digital products. HarperCollins Publishers strives to build the best-in-market publications, agnostic of format, to meet today’s rapidly changing market needs, thereby best serving our authors.
In the role of Content Management Assistant, you will work closely with your department colleagues to develop the essential skills needed in overseeing the interior composition of both print books and e-publications. The workflow which guides this process will require you to work expertly within Microsoft Word and Adobe Suite and will put you in close collaboration with editors, designers, and production managers from nearly all HarperCollins’ US Trade imprints. As an assistant, daily tasks will consist of inputting typographical and formatting changes to book interiors, maintaining the integrity of a book’s design, assisting teammates when asked, and diligently overseeing the various archival systems in which we catalogue files and data. The ideal candidate will be someone with superior attention to detail, ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects, a keen interest in composition and typographical principles.
