Opportunity Summary:

The Content Marketing Manager is a critical role in the Content Lifecycle Automation (CLA) business unit at Upland Software. This role sits within the Marketing team and will own content creation from start to finish. This is a great opportunity to stretch your content marketing capabilities to create all types of content – from blogs and social posts to case studies, eBooks, infographics, and more. If you are a high-performer, like autonomy, can manage multiple projects in varying stages, and are proficient in both long- and short-form content writing for B2B tech, this is the role for you!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Write thoughtful, compelling marketing content to support every stage of the customer journey, targeting key personas by product to engage, educate, and inspire buyers
  • Produce a wide range of content types, including blogs, case studies, emails, ebooks, social/ad copy, website copy, sales collateral, and other relevant content types to support prospect and customer marketing
  • Engage with key marketing stakeholders, SMEs, and cross-functional teams to gather information and requirements for content creation
  • Collaborate closely with demand generation team to create compelling content for integrated and tactical campaigns
  • Engage with external SEO agency to ensure ongoing keyword optimization of website and blog content
  • Develop and maintain an editorial calendar for content planning and prioritization
  • Oversee, govern, and update Content Lifecycle Automation (CLA) content as required to ensure brand and messaging consistency across internal and external channels


Requirements:

  • 5-7 years professional experience as a content writer or content marketer
  • A bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism or Writing
  • Experience creating short- and long-form content, with a portfolio to back it up
  • Comfortable with content management systems and SEO best practices
  • Exceptional writing and editing abilities to quickly transform technical ideas or concepts into engaging stories
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests/projects simultaneously
  • Keen interest in content marketing best practices, content performance, and measurement
  • Experience working with designers, web managers, and marketing operations

Desired Skills:

  • Experience writing for B2B technology companies
  • Experience with project and content management tools, such as Wrike or Kapost
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics as it relates to content performance and keyword tracking
  • Comfortable collaborating with Product Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales teams to build content to support the complete buyer’s journey
  • Experience engaging with customers, thought leaders, and industry professionals
  • A collaborative team player with positive energy
  • Ability to identify and pitch new ideas or projects as the business requires
  • Resourceful and able to work independently to manage content projects from start to finish
