This Fall Internship is from Sept. through Dec. 15th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work part time hours a week, Monday through Friday in the specified location This is not a remote role. A hybrid work option may or may not be available.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
Sony Pictures Content Strategy and Acquisitions provides the strategy for SPT Networks in Latam and Brazil. Supports Sony TV Distribution with content business development and acquisition projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
80% Project Development: Read, watch, review and analyze projects (movies, TV series, formats) that are being considered for acquisition or co-production purposes. Participate in creative meetings and conference calls regarding the projects. Present recommendations and feedback regarding the narrative and stylistic approaches, the character development, the traits, names and locations, and whether these would appeal to the target audience. Highlight any inconsistencies found in the provided material. Subsequent to the meetings or the review sessions, prepare documents with the observations identified and/or discussed.
20% Material Preparation/Handling: Create, edit or translate creative documents (synopses, scripts, loglines, character descriptions, catalogue presentations, comp sheets, research, charts, product integration presentations, etc.) and presentations for internal and external presentation purposes. Write screener and script reports with recommendations to the team for acquisition and co-production opportunities. Upload or extract material (documents or video) from Runner or the Screening Room and send out links if needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergrad with a concentration in either: Motion Pictures & Television, Communications, Business Administration, Journalism, Marketing
Proficiency in PC applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
Can work on multiple projects at the same time with the ability to prioritize
Strong communication skills
Must be detail-oriented, organized, and resourceful
Enjoys working in a team, as well as independently
Strong Interest in the entertainment industry i.e., Television and/or movie
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Fully bilingual in both English and Spanish (written and spoken)
Experience in story structures; coverage, analysis, and development of content
Working with top talent to create world class entertainment for audiences everywhere.
