The Controller will be Forma’s first hire on the Accounting team. This role is critical in ensuring financial accuracy in accordance with US GAAP and designing our financial infrastructure and systems to enable the business to scale.
This person will manage all aspects of the accounting function, as well as manage relationships with third party accountants, and eventually bring accounting fully in-house as we grow. They will be responsible for monthly and quarterly accounting close processes, financial reporting and ad hoc analyses for internal and external stakeholders. In addition this individual will help identify ways to streamline and scale accounting and finance processes and set up robust systems.
This role reports to the VP of Finance.
Monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes including preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
Preparing reporting packages for senior leadership and Board of Directors meetings
Building out scalable accounting and reporting processes including systems implementation
Designing and implementing internal controls and documentation
Managing the AP, AR, and payroll functions
Perform deep dives and drive ad-hoc analyses to improve the collective understanding of risks and opportunities related to the business
10+ years of relevant work experience with a mix of public accounting and company experience
CPA required
Experience at a high growth venture-backed start-up (ideally Series B/C/D)
Experience working with Quickbooks, Netsuite, or Oracle
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to present and explain financials to senior leaders at the company
