Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Coordinator of Educational Technology, College of Education on the Dahlonega campus. This position manages the College of Education's data management and assessment platform and educational technologies. They support users with guidance and training and ensure the continued development, maintenance, and functionality of the platform and educational technologies. They also provide reports produced by the assessment platform as scheduled by College of Education leadership. They are responsible for managing the educational technology hardware supporting all College of Education programs and departments, managing the technology lab, including student workers, and the check-out and support systems on all campuses and providing training to students, faculty, and staff on the use of the assessment platform, technology, and instructional technology. The incumbent will liaise with other university departments and external stakeholders to coordinate these efforts. Travel to local schools; some lifting/carrying of equipment required. In addition to background checks for all cardholders, O.C.G.A. § 50-5-83 requires a credit check on all employees issued a purchasing card. Additionally, credit checks must be run at the time of PCard renewal.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and facilitate the College of Education's Data Management and Assessment Platform to house all required accreditation and approval assessments; collect and manage all electronic assessments; collect and manage field placement information; and collect and manage all survey data from students, faculty, and external stakeholders. Provide reports from the platform for the purposes of accreditation, government reporting, institutional reporting, and program improvement.
  • Manage the College of Education technology lab on the Dahlonega campus, including supervision of student workers, and all related technology services on all campuses, including maintenance of the check-out system and checking out equipment for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Maintain technology inventory and develop and uphold technology policies and procedures for the College of Education. Assist with use of technology as related to equipment that has been checked out.
  • Develop and facilitate instructional technology training and professional development as related to education and kinesiology and offer technical support to COE faculty and students as related to current technologies.
  • Coordinate the College of Education technology services with the University's IT Department and the Department of Distance Education and Instructional Technology; liaise with departments to develop interfaces between software systems (e.g., Banner, LiveText©, Anthology Portfolio©, eLearning, etc.);
  • Maintain knowledge of current state program rules and accreditation standards and policies applying to all assessments and platforms by reviewing documents and attending related accreditation and program approval meetings and webinars and apply this knowledge to data and assessment management, including communicating appropriate information to and conducting related training for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Excellent technology hardware and software knowledge and skills required for both Mac and PC environments.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of office practices, procedures, systems and equipment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time to prioritize tasks and meet assigned deadlines; ability to maintain accurate records and gather and process information; ability to work unsupervised; ability to work with a diverse student, faculty, and stakeholder population as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree required; preferred in Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, Information Technology, or a closely related area/field.
  • Three (3) years of educational and instructional technology experience is required.
  • Or an or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Educational and instructional technology experience preferred.
