Sr Cybersecurity Specialist

Copper River Cyber Solutions is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Specialist to join our team in support of a new contract at the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Responsiveness. This position will be performed remotely with the occasional need for an onsite meeting in the Washington D.C. area.

The Senior Cyber Security Specialist is responsible for determining operational objectives by studying cyber security functions, gathering information, evaluating output requirements and formats.  

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Constructs workflow charts and diagrams, studies system capabilities and writing specifications. 
  • Improve cyber security systems by studying current practices and designing modifications. 
  • Recommend controls by identifying problems and writing performed procedures. 
  • Defining cyber security project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget. 
  • Monitoring cyber security project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports and recommended actions. 
  • Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Working with Project Team Leads and Project Managers to produce high quality products.
  • Work with Senior Executives (corporate and government) to foster open communication and ensure customer and company success
  • Cultivate the relationship with the COR(s) and government team leads with the goal of cyber security related objectives are successfully met
  • Gather cyber security data for regular project assessments and monthly program reviews
  • Participate in special projects as required by contributing and managing internal organization initiatives

Requirements:

  • Clearance:
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • Education:
    • Bachelors degree or prior, relevant experience in lieu of a degree
    • Cybersecurity certification preferred
    • Splunk, Unix/Linux OS, Windows Server OS, firewall certifications are a plus
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience
    • Experience creating and managing Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) implementations
    • Experience providing high-level architectural expertise to managers and technical staff
    • Experience producing quality documentation
    • Experience working with Federal government clients
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Cyber Security knowledge and experience
    • Cloud knowledge and experience
    • Platform and data migration knowledge and experience a plus
    • Microsoft 365 knowledge and experience a plus
    • SharePoint knowledge and experience a plusbersecurity
