The Coral Restoration Fellow (CRF) participates in lab and field based coral restoration activities at the US Virgin Islands Coral Innovation Hub in St. Croix USVI. We are currently carrying out one of the world’s largest coral reef restoration projects across a 150-acre site within a marine protected area. The primary role for the CRF will be to assist in lab-based coral propagation, animal husbandry and aquaria maintenance. This person will also carry out a project during the course of the fellowship which will be decided on by the fellow and their supervisor. The CRF will have the opportunity for training and learning exchanges with partners and experts in the field. The goal of this position is to provide early career scientists and conservationists in the US Virgin Islands with paid employment to gain additional experience and training in the field.

The ideal candidate has experience in or a desire to work in aquaculture and animal husbandry and is looking for a position to gain experience and skills in the field of marine conservation. Term: This is a term-limited position, with a start date of July 5th, 2023. The position has an end date of January 5th, 2024. In order to provide this opportunity to as many aspiring conservationists as possible, there is no option to extend the position past this date since a new cohort will begin, but candidates are encouraged to apply for permanent positions with TNC after the 6-month term as available.
Compensation: The pay range for this position is $15-17/hr, depending on experience.
