Job Description

The Business Data Analyst for Apertures Solutions – US business unit will report into the Vice President of Commercial Operations and work closely with Pricing, Logistics, IT, Credit, and Finance to develop and drive the Master Data Management system across the Business Unit. This position will be responsible for the execution, implementation and maintenance of the master data management system that enables users to optimize system capabilities. Uses knowledge of the end-to-end data processes to analyze, cleanse, and enrich master data elements, and ensure that data flows efficiently and consistently between users and stakeholders. The Business Data Analyst will provide governance and ensures data integrity by coordinating data management efforts across the organization. This person will troubleshoot issues related to master data management and identify opportunities for improving the data management process.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the data resource specific to data definitions and for all customer master data
  • Collaborate with business partners to define customer master data quality rules (incl. duplicate checks) and translate these into technical requirements for the development teams
  • Analyze deduplication results – and collaborate with business partners to define and coordinate actions and clean-up measures
  • Ensure compliance and management of data creation/modification process
  • Assist with the data requirements for system test functions
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to business units to enhance the quality of customer master data
  • Proactively and independently escalate perceived issues related to metrics and data to appropriate management areas to facilitate resolutions
  • Maintain an excellent level of data consistency and integrity across all systems
  • Manage daily, weekly and monthly tasks/reporting
  • Observe and correct customer divisional master data inconsistencies
  • Recommend improvements to processes and controls
  • Participates in release and support planning and execution

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of data maintenance OR 5 years of related business experience in Manufacturing, customer service, materials management, or sales/marketing
  • Proven track record of problem solving and analytical skills
  • Innovative and creative with strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize work.  Sense of urgency to meet deadlines
  • Customer focused and service oriented
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and recognize the impact of change to the organization
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflict and gain consensus
  • Proven ability to effectively meet goals and complete tasks from start to finish
