Staff Accountant

Job Description

 

Performs various financial accounting activities in the Accounting Department.  Primary functions are to execute the closure of the monthly books, prepare monthly journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and assist the Accounting Manager or Manager, Financial Reporting with AR/AP duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creating journal entries and account reconciliations. Ensuring all month-end activities are recorded in an accurate and timely manner each month
  • Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Perform daily AR duties and Cash report for Corporate
  • Maintain journal entry and balance sheet assignment checklist
  • Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting processes.
  • Financial analysis as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • CPA is preferred
  • Monthly financial consolidation or previous experience in a multi-entity environment is highly preferred.
  • 1-3 years of general ledger and/or corporate accounting experience
  • Experience in a publicly traded company is beneficial
  • Experience in major ERPs (e.g., Oracle, SAP, and/or JDE) and financial consolidation tools (e.g., Hyperion and/or OneStream)
  • Strong intermediate or advanced Excel skills
  • Progressive financial accounting experience working with all aspects of financial accounting.
