Corporate Aviation Representative

Qualifications

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under general direction of the Corporate Aviation Manager, monitors ramp activities, inspects facilities and public areas to ensure standards for cleanliness, maintenance and other contract related functions are being met. Makes parking assignments for arriving flights and collects fees from charter airlines and itinerant aircraft using Corporate Aviation Facilities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitors operations and activities on the general aviation ramp to ensure environmental compliance and safety; reports discrepancies and follows up as required.
  • Inspects general aviation facilities to ensure contract compliance for custodial and maintenance work; reports discrepancies and follows up as required.
  • Communicates maintenance needs to the Airport Operations Center; and maintains the Corporate Aviation Facility in a safe and secure manner.
  • Uses approved signals, equipment, and knowledge of aircraft size and types to marshal aircraft to assigned parking positions.
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl beneath aircraft to perform aircraft securing tasks and perform lavatory, potable water, and power unit services.
  • Use DFW Board ramp equipment to tow and reposition aircraft on the Corporate Aviation ramp requiring visual cues and acute depth perception.
  • Operates DFW Board vehicles to transport customers between Corporate Aviation and DFW main airport terminals and other approved destinations on DFW Airport property.
  • Lift and lower items weighing up to 70 pounds without assistance and up to 150 pounds with assistance.
  • Operate DFW Board vehicles (golf carts, vans, trucks, aircraft tugs, and towing equipment on the Corporate Aviation ramp under all weather conditions.
  • Operates Aircraft Re-fueler on the Corporate Aviation ramp under all weather conditions.
  • Makes written report of daily activity; assists in maintenance of records and reports.
  • Communicates frequently with personnel from contractors, tenants, airlines, agencies and the public.
  • Monitors environmental spills, containment, and cleanup; reports discrepancies and follows up as required.
  • Greets guests, assists guests with baggage, wheelchairs and provides mobile assistance when needed.
  • Assists with needs for VIPs and Airport Board officials.
  • Responds to customer injuries and emergencies; acts as initial point of contact during these events and relays emergency information to appropriate persons.
  • May collects landing fees and other airport charges and documents transactions in the absence of the Corporate Aviation Concierge.
  • May responds to guest assistance calls and requests in the absence of the Corporate Aviation Concierge.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent.
  • One-year (1) of experience in a position requiring extensive public contact and six (6) months experience with Aircraft Fueling.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Must possess Aircraft Re-Fueling certification or obtain it within 30 days of hire.
  • Must possess or obtain National Air Transportation Association (NATA) Safety Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of aircraft maneuverability and size requirements.
  • Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions associated with area of assignment.
  • Skill in observation and evaluation techniques required in monitoring contracts.
  • Skill in the operation of modern office equipment, including word processing and e-mail software.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction and multiplication.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate clearly by radio and telephone.
  • Ability to train new employees.
  • Ability to support and contribute to a strong safety process.
  • Ability to analyze each potential solution and take prompt action to solve a customer's complaint.
  • Ability to accurately complete discrepancy reports, accident reports, and daily activity logs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to coordinate work activities with staff in order to accomplish assignments within pre-established time limits.
  • Ability to pass a medical physical examination.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts.
  • Ability to comply with all compliance protocols for operating fueling equipment.
  • Ability to comply with required personal protective equipment (PPE).

DESIRABLE:

  • Previous experience with a Fixed Based Operator (FBO).
  • Previous experience with a customer service section of an air carrier.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et al., and DFW Airport's Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal.
  • Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection (CBP) security access clearance within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for CBP security access clearance upon each CBP security access renewal.
  • This is a designated safety sensitive position as defined in DFW Airport's Drug and Alcohol Administrative Policy and Procedure. Applicants selected for this position will be required to pass a drug test prior to employment and to submit to drug screening on a random basis during the length of their employment in the safety sensitive position.
  • This is a designated Essential Employee position as defined in DFW Airport's Categories and Classifications Administrative Policy and Procedure. An essential employee is one whose attendance is required to maintain airport operations during an emergency or inclement weather situation.
  • Must be able to meet all initial and recurrent training requirements in accordance with Title 14 CFR part 139 and administrative Policy AO.014.01, Ground Vehicle Driver Training for Air Operations Area (AOA) within 30 days of assignment to a driving position and before being permitted to operate the vehicle without the direct supervision and presence of a co-operator qualified under this requirement.

  • Works in an office environment, as well as outside, in all weather conditions and around airport terminals.
  • Uses keyboard devices, computer monitors, and digital cameras.
  • Uses reasoning in problem solving and analysis.
  • Performs basic mathematical calculations.
  • Frequently exerts forces equivalent to lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Uses near and far-visual acuity.
  • Communicates by telephone, radio, in writing and in person.
  • Drives to locations on Airport property.
