As a Corporate Counsel with 6 River Systems, you will lead customer and vendor contract negotiations, level-up our vendor contracting processes to improve collaboration across our business units, help drive our data privacy compliance, and partner with the General Counsel and other members of the legal team to provide advice on a variety of legal and business challenges. In this new position, you will:

• Negotiate Various Agreements: Review, negotiate and draft a wide variety of agreements including master goods and services agreements, software licensing agreements and statements of work, in-bound license agreements, strategic partner, professional services, subcontractor, consulting and nondisclosure agreements
• Build the Infrastructure: Organize and build a library of templates and playbooks for use when contracting with vendors
• Drive Data Privacy Compliance: Assist the General Counsel in building out our data privacy framework and take the lead in ensuring ongoing compliance
• Support with Legal Issues: This will include assessing and mitigating risk across our vendor base, ensuring regulatory and product liability compliance, researching and managing other discrete matters as they arise

What you'll need day one:

• Substantial experience drafting and negotiating complex inbound and outbound legal agreements, such as software and other licensing arrangements, including agreements for SaaS and other cloud-based services, hardware purchases and sale agreements, strategic partnership agreements, and other technology-related offerings
• Experience negotiating and drafting agreements with strong attention to detail
• Experience with data privacy compliance, including drafting and negotiating data privacy agreements
• Ability to build and maintain trust with internal teams by providing support proactively and in the moment
• Learning mindset, resourceful approach, and interest in understanding our business
• Ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences including sales, finance, and HR colleagues about complex legal situations using simple language
• A solutions-oriented mindset and can-do positive attitude to support the business, while thriving in an ever-changing environment
