Corporate Manager of Warehouse Operations

CORPORATE MANAGER OF WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Corporate Manager of Warehousing determines and implements warehouse process and cost reduction improvements at company & 3rd party operated distribution centers, and at Hormel plant warehouses, and will be the company functional expert on the Hormel Warehouse Management System.

The person in this position:
  • Manages a team responsible for oversight of all warehouse operations to include Plant Warehouses, Distribution Centers and 3PL Partner Warehouses.
  • Strategically positions Hormel to be an industry leader in warehouse operations and understands current and future trends and technologies as it relates to warehousing in the CPG space.
  • Set processes and initiatives promoting safety first, quality and cost containment within the warehouse space.
  • Works cross functionally with all areas of Operations, QC, R&D, Supply Chain and Sales to drive efficiencies within warehouse operations with a focus on achieving optimal service and cost metrics.
  • Manages team responsible for training and implementation of WMS and upgrades in our facilities, both current and any facilities onboarded through acquisitions.
  • Responsible to build and analyze data to define and recommend enterprise-wide solutions.
  • Establishes key KPI's to ensure we are operating as a 'best in class organization.
  • Identifies and suggests changes to warehouse layouts or operations to improve efficiency.
  • Identifies and executes uniform material handling equipment uses, warehouse work process, and warehouse procedural standards among similar sites using the Hormel WMS.
  • Position does require 25% travel and some after hours and weekend work.
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States
  • Applicants must not now, or any time in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required
  • 10 years of experience of managing/leading a multi-site operation in a complex environment.
  • Prior experience with talent development.
  • Prior experience with TMS and WMS technologies.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft suit of products.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
