We are searching for a Cost Accountant to join the Weissman finance team and transform strategy into reality using skilled inventory, cost, and process management.

Coordinate the physical inventory count and cycle count schedule, investigate variances, and resolve counting issues

Maintain and update cost elements and cost models; review standard costs, earned and actual costs for variances

Administer standard, adjusting, and closing entries to record, reconcile, and validate the increase and decrease of raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods stock using Infor M3 ERP software

Revise the reserve for obsolete inventory as needed, and partner with cross-functional leadership to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory

Analyze and report product and work center breakeven points, margins, and periodic variances

Guide the capital expense budget cycle, assess annual request ROI, and report monthly completion

Partner with cross-functional leadership to identify and implement cost accounting system design improvements, solutions to process constraints, and estimates for costs incurred over an asset’s useful life

Prepare accounting schedules, organize financial records, and verify that all financial materials align with U.S. GAAP accounting standards and are easily accessible for audit

Utilize knowledge of cost definition, recognition, and measurement to keep the Weissman company accounting and reporting manual and policies accurate and up-to-date

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (or relevant business field) or equivalent experience

Several years of applicable process and standard cost accounting experience

Key skillset includes math, communication, organization and analytics

Proactive cross-functional business partner

Advanced knowledge of business bookkeeping procedures and accounting regulations (GAAP)

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, accounting software, and ERP systems

Able to maintain financial confidentiality and demonstrate honesty, integrity and professionalism at all times

Licensure/Certification: CPA and/or CMA

Higher education: Master’s Degree in Accounting (or relevant business field)

Working knowledge of Lawson, Infor M3, and/or Oracle ERP platforms
-
Working knowledge of Google Workspace business application and collaboration tools

Previous retail or manufacturing industry experience

Active participation in (and use of) educational opportunities and professional organizations, networks and publications, to remain up-to-date with accounting changes and industry trends

Licensure/Certification: Six Sigma methodology supporting efficiency, profitability, customer satisfaction, project management, and process improvement
