STR is in the process of combining CoStar’s largest and most up-to-date properties database with STR’s global hospitality performance data, to give both real estate and hospitality customers a unique and powerful combined view of their local markets.Role Description:The role of Data Operations Associate I will be a vital position on the STR Data Operations Team based in Nashville, reporting to the Manager, Data Operations. This role is responsible for data loading, data checking and report delivery for our benchmarking product. In addition, this role will support with client related administrative tasks relating to data feeds and automating data from the clients to STR. This team member will work closely with STR’s data contacts and internal team members worldwide to ensure the accuracy of and continued provision of data.This position requires an individual that is self-motivated and detail-orientated with strong analytical skills. You thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment and can quickly adapt to any type of situation. Strong inter-personal skills and commercial acumen are also a must, as this role will require collaboration with various stakeholders where data integrity, data quality, and client confidentiality are a top priority.Role Responsibilities:• Load daily, weekly and monthly data from corporate submissions, automated data feeds and manual data files:• Perform data quality checks – research and accept/reject data.• Contact data providers to understand and resolve data discrepancies.• Communicate effectively and professionally with properties, clients, and other industry professionals regarding STR/CoStar’s policies and guidelines.• Notify the research department of any census related issues (room supply, open dates, etc.).• Work with Account Management to monitor and improve participation levels.• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly processing procedures.• Respond to clients via email in an effective and timely manner.• Help teams run pre-processing checks on weekly and monthly data.• Generate, check, and send selected reports to corporate clients and individual properties.• Act as an internal point of contact for data related queries.• Manage workflow requests and work with clients to assist in the setup of data delivery.• Stay knowledgeable of industry trends and industry news that may affect the data.• Work on various projects as needed and able.• Other duties may be assigned as required.• Adhere to STR’s and CoStar’s standards and guidelines for data confidentiality.• Help clients automate their data submission to STR from various technology vendors.• Identify new opportunities for automated data transfer to STR with new technology vendors.• Support growth in data participation.Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College, ideally in the field of hospitality, data, business management or finance.• A track record of commitment to prior employers.• Up to a year of internship or work experience in customer service, data entry or hospitality.• Strong analytical skills.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Ability to manipulate big data sets/work with disparate data sets.• Strong knowledge of Microsoft products, in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Word.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.• Experienced in dealing with urgent internal and/or external requests while maintaining the turnaround times for other projects.• History of working in a detail orientated role whereby attention and focus was a priority.• Be a team player, as a member of an international team.Preferred Qualifications:• Knowledge of STR data, products, and clients.• Experience of working within the hotel/travel/tourism industry.• Data Skills: creative, innovative, and analytical.
