The County of San Diego has a current opening for Staff Development Specialist.Interviews will take place the week of November 11, 2024.Job offers for selected candidates will be made the week of December 2, 2024.Staff Development Specialists perform professional work in the development, coordination, and implementation of in-service training programs for all levels of County employees. Two (2) years of successfully completed coursework (60 units minimum) from an accredited U.S. college or university, or certified foreign studies equivalency in the areas of business administration, public administration, instructional design, education, psychology, human resource development or management, or a closely related field AND two (2) years of full time experience designing and delivering human resource management or technical in-service training to employees of a public or private agency or organization; OR,2. Four (4) years of any combination of college level education or training experience as stated above.Note: Possession of a certification as a trainer or human resources professional by PSHRA/IPMA, SHRM, or ASTD (ATD) is desirable at time of appointment.INTERVIEWS AND HIRING PROCESSThe timeline for this recruitment is outlined below.• Job Offer and Background Process begins after the week of December 2, 2024.• Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.• Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date.The Department of Human Resources removes personally identifiable information from all recruitments.
