The expected ENTRY pay range for this position based on experience and equity within the Judicial Branch is $18.50 to $20.50 per hour.

This position is non-exempt under the FLSA.

About the Position
The Court Administration Assistant provides administrative support in a high-volume work environment that requires the ability to multi-task, use strong organizational and communication skills to provide exemplary service, both internally and externally, ensuring that the needs of the Court are met effectively.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED
Experience:
  • Two (2) years of general clerical or administrative experience
OR
Combined education and experience qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis
Our Preferred Candidate has:
  • Experience handling monetary transactions/cashiering, previous court or legal experience, and substantial customer service
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge of:
  • Principles and processes for providing customer service including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
Skill in:
  • The use of computer applications including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software.
  • Written and verbal communication with others to convey information effectively
  • Providing exemplary customer service
Ability to:
  • Learn policies, procedures, and guidelines established by the Court
  • Respond courteously to concerns of the public, attorneys, and employees
  • Use effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Excel in a high volume and time-sensitive work environment
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Understand and accurately brief oral and written instructions
  • Make sound decisions in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Work as a member of a team with minimal supervision
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS
(This is not an all-inclusive list of all job duties that may be required; employees will be required to perform other related duties as assigned.)
  • Provides customer-centric service to Protective Order Area, Customer Service, and Information Desk and other related customers as needed.
  • Assists customers in identifying applicable court forms for various court processes.
  • Assists litigants in completing Protective Order paperwork using the Domestic Violence Computer Prompt System and AZPoint (Statewide Petition Portal).
  • In accordance with minimum accounting standards, performs direct cash handling, including entering codes into the Cash Management System, receipting transactions, balancing cash drawer and making daily deposits.
  • Uses ICIS, Domestic Violence Computer Prompt System, AZPoint and other court software to assist customers with case information.
  • Directs public to appropriate Court programs, resources, facilities and outside agencies.
  • Set meeting, review Administrator calendars, setup meetings, office clerical work (copies, creation of binders, errands)
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Working conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak clearly and hear; see details of objects that are less than a few feet away; sit for long periods of time; stand, walk, use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally push, pull or lift up to 20 pounds.

Typically, successful candidates are hired at a salary rate up to the midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

Judicial Branch facilities are located throughout Maricopa County. This position may be reassigned to other locations. Assignments will be made based upon the needs of the department.
