About CoW Protocol 

CoW DAO is on a mission to protect Ethereum users from the dangers of DeFi. It does this by supporting the development of CoW Protocol, CoW Swap, MEV Blocker, and CoW AMM, and by funding values-aligned projects through the CoW Grants Program. 

CoW Protocol is the second-largest DEX aggregator by monthly volume and the first-largest intents-based exchange. MEV Blocker is currently involved in ~4% of all Ethereum transactions, making it the category leader. CoW AMM is the only live AMM that protects LPs from LVR (loss-versus rebalancing). 

As a member of CoW DAO’s core team, you will have the opportunity to shape these essential products, and contribute to the Ethereum ecosystem more broadly.

About the role

CoW DAO is looking for a hungry, experienced, and process-oriented business development manager to spearhead strategic growth initiatives for CoW DAO’s products. This is a unique and high-profile role, both internally and externally, that requires a significant amount of interfacing between CoW DAO’s core team and other impactful crypto projects. Ultimately, the goal is to make CoW DAO the go-to development partner for every type of DeFi project

What you’ll do 

  • Identify opportunities for partnerships (with wallets, lending platforms, consumer finance applications, other DeFi protocols, etc.) that align with our growth strategy, which you will play a big role in shaping

  • Develop deep understanding of the products and services of potential partners, quickly, and think up novel and reasonable use cases for CoW DAO technologies that align with their product visions and ecosystems 

  • Convince potential partners to integrate CoW DAO products, negotiate contracts, and project-manage RFPs and technical implementations

  • Create and maintain beautifully-polished sales enablement materials such as sales decks, target lists, and influence maps to assist the BD team in achieving its goals 

  • Monitor the strength of existing partnerships (qualitatively and quantitatively), support them in ongoing development efforts, and cross-promote new opportunities within the CoW DAO product ecosystem that can help them achieve their goals

  • Forecast DeFi trends to position CoW DAO products to capitalize on emerging business opportunities

  • Represent CoW DAO and its products at industry events, talks, and conferences to enhance our visibility and establish a strong reputation within the DeFi community

  • Influence CoW DAO’s product roadmaps with feedback and insight gained from talking to partners and thinking deeply about industry trends; generally foster cross-team collaboration between business development, product, and marketing teams

  • Regularly report on the success of your initiatives internally, both qualitatively and quantitatively, and consistently identify ways to scale and improve your impact

  • Appropriately manage a budget for travel and events to support business development activities

Who you are 

  • Extensive experience in sales or business development, ideally within the DeFi industry

  • Experience within a blockchain protocol or the broader Web3 ecosystem, with a solid understanding of blockchain tech and applications like wallets, AMMs, MEVs, lending platforms, consumer finance applications and other DeFi protocols

  • Great at building and leveraging relationships with clients, partners, and industry leaders in the blockchain and crypto space

  • A strategic business thinker with a can-do attitude and a track record of delivering successful partnerships in crypto

  • A convincing presenter that knows how to tell a compelling story with data

  • Able to understand the technical complexities and dependencies of projects across DeFi

  • An excellent communicator in person and online (synchronously and asynchronously); great over email and Telegram

  • Entrepreneurial – able to set personal targets and deliver them in a results-oriented environment with infrequent oversight 

  • Determined and results-oriented 

  • Highly process-oriented

  • Able to operate at a variety of speeds (quick or slow burn)

  • Ruthlessly manages their time to focus only on the most impactful opportunities

  • Have an existing network of high-value DeFi contacts
