CROP (Creating Restorative Opportunities and Programs) is an Oakland-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to reimagining reentry through a holistic and human-centered model. Driven by innovative approaches to education, advocacy, housing, personal leadership development, and workforce pathways, CROP works to reduce recidivism and create opportunities for justice-impacted individuals. Founded by leaders with direct lived experience in the criminal justice system, CROP’s programs aim to transform lives and communities.
The Reentry Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting participants throughout their journey in CROP’s Ready 4 Life program and beyond. This position focuses on program outreach, enrollment, intake, and comprehensive supportive services that help participants overcome barriers and achieve success.
As a primary resource for program participants, the Reentry Coordinator works collaboratively to identify needs, remove obstacles, and connect individuals with appropriate interventions and resources. Through holistic, wraparound support services, this role guides participants before, during, and after the program—conducting assessments, developing personalized reentry and action plans, providing warm hand-off referrals, and addressing other case management needs.
The Reentry Coordinator collaborates closely with other support service teams across the organization to ensure participant growth and successful program completion. By building strong relationships with participants and partners, this role helps create pathways to lasting success and community reintegration.
PROGRAM RECRUITMENT & ENROLLMENT
Coordinate application dissemination and initial screening process for prospective program participants
Document all participant inquiries and referrals through the website, email, and support phone line
Support program selections and interview process, including application review, status updates, interviews, participant selections, and participant communication
Oversee placement of program participants into cohorts and waitlists, including communicating with applicants and/or parole agents
PROGRAM ONBOARDING & PARTICIPANT SUPPORT
Coordinate with prison ride pick-up partners
Conduct program orientation and intake process for accepted program applicants, including ensuring completion of intake forms and performing assessments
Develop stabilization plans for participants, including establishing vital accounts, documents, and individual development plans that address barriers and support goals
Coordinate program enrollment logistics for participants, such as parole transfers, ID acquisition, and accounts setup
Lead campus move-in/move-out processes, including reviewing residential agreements, house rules, and policies
Create and implement program exit plans with participants transitioning out of the program
CASE MANAGEMENT & PARTICIPANT PROGRESS
Administer relevant risk needs strengths assessments and develop comprehensive reentry plans to implement through course of program
Manage participant caseload to provide stabilization services and promote employment and housing retention
Create monthly progress reports documenting participant achievements and challenges
Coordinate all participant schedules including approval of travel, overnight and weekend passes, coordination of participant work schedules, and notification of changes to employment
Provide guidance and encouragement toward employment pathways aligned with program career tracks
Deliver ongoing support across program groups, addressing service needs and facilitating warm hand-offs
Lead team case conferencing meetings and collaborate with other support service teams across the organization
Ensure program participants maintain compliance with parole requirements, rules, and guidelines, including but not limited to understanding parole requirements and facilitating or coordinating parole required classes for participants
DATA MANAGEMENT & REPORTING
Submit timely and accurate progress notes for all participant activities and track outcomes in database
Prepare and document intake interviews, intake documents, discharge plans, continuing support plans
Compile departmental and funder reports and evaluations as needed
Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of community resources
TEAM COLLABORATION & ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE
Coordinate trainings with staff and partner organizations as needed
Participate in cross-departmental initiatives that strengthen CROP's overall program offerings and impact
Contribute to a positive organizational culture by modeling CROP's values in all interactions with participants, colleagues, and partners

ROLE FOUNDATIONS
For this role, there are a few essential requirements:
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Based out of LA
State driver’s license and personal auto insurance
2+ years experience in case management, social services, or reentry support
Hold certifications in case management services (such AOD counseling, peer support specialist, etc.) OR have 5+ years of case management experience
Proficiency with basic technology systems (databases, Google, Microsoft Office, etc.)

Understanding of trauma-informed care approaches: Recognizes how trauma affects behavior and decision-making. Applies appropriate interventions that avoid re-traumatization. Understands the intersection of trauma with justice involvement and reentry challenges.
Knowledge of applicable guidelines and laws: Knowledge of applicable city, state, and federal guidelines, and laws affecting justice-involved individuals, mental health treatment services, and reporting procedures.
Familiarity with reentry challenges and resources: Understands barriers facing justice-involved individuals. Knows available community services and how to access them. Recognizes the interconnection between housing, employment, and successful reintegration.
Skills
Documentation and record-keeping: Maintains accurate, timely case notes and confidential participant records. Captures relevant data for program evaluation and reporting. Organizes information to facilitate effective handoffs and collaboration.
Cross-functional collaboration: Works effectively across departments to address participant needs. Communicates relevant information to stakeholders.
Motivational interviewing techniques: Engages participants through strengths-based approaches. Elicits intrinsic motivation for change. Helps participants identify and work toward self-determined goals.
Experience with database management systems: Proficient in using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms to track participant information and outcomes. Leverages technology tools to enhance case management efficiency. Adapts to new systems and updates as organizational needs evolve.

Compensation & Benefits
This full-time, non-exempt position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare, holidays, and paid time off. The salary range for this position is $35.78 to $38.94 per hour.
Schedule
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, hybrid position that requires regular presence in our LA office. General hours of employment are 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday.
Supervision
This role is supervised by the Director of Reentry.
