The Role

We are looking for an experienced and efficient Creative Lead to oversee and build our creative department, drive our creative strategy, and develop best-in-class creative executions across a variety of touchpoints and mediums. Reporting directly to the CMO, this role will oversee creative across both Level's consumer and multi-family businesses. The right candidate will be comfortable working on both high level strategy and creative vision, as well as contributing individually to projects and initiatives, in addition to working cross-functionally, driving external creative agencies, and growing a world-class team.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for content and messaging that takes our consumers on a clear, consistent and impactful buying journey for both the consumer and multifamily business units
  • Lead the ideation, art direction, and design of projects from start to finish
  • Sit on the marketing leadership team and drive creative strategies that link to business objectives
  • Creates best in class digital content through a deep understanding of the products and consumer
  • Participate in creative strategy meetings and partners with teams across the organization to translate business strategy into creative concepts
  • Works directly with development team to bring new ideas to life, including briefing in wireframes, designs, page functionality, and giving feedback on beta rounds until completion
  • Present concepts and receives buy-in from senior creative and company leadership
  • Operate with a solid understanding of the Level brand aesthetic and ethos
  • Elevate and evolve the site aesthetic while supporting the overall brand direction
  • Leads creative projects as well as execute; this role will help create and lead a team of creatives
  • Provide feedback and art direction to external creative agencies and vendors
  • Deliver and solicit feedback to continually improve the Level brand
  • Clearly articulate design and copywriting decisions to a vast set of partners and stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of creative experience in an ad agency or DTC brand, overseeing both copy and design
  • Preference for those with experience working in the consumer electronics industry
  • Strong knowledge of the digital ecosystem and works on creative for a variety of channels and mediums (email, digital paid advertising, in-app, landing pages) against both brand and performance objectives
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team of in-house and contracted designers/copywriters while working hands on with individual creative briefs
  • Outstanding portfolio demonstrating best-in-class advertising work, ideally with a strong emphasis on digital
  • Highly creative with ability to think conceptually and execute visually
  • Self-starter who is comfortable in a fast-pace, start-up environment
  • Experience ensuring that all work adheres to brand guidelines, while also creatively pushing boundaries
  • Takes direction from non-creative stakeholders and translate their business needs into creative that effectively motivates our audiences across a variety of channels
  • Understanding of or willingness to become an expert in home automation, deeply understand the customer profile, and how to differentiate our products from competitors
  • Excellent organization skills, with the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and consistently execute creative visions within deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, able to express opinions professionally, able to receive feedback gracefully, and comfortable presenting in meetings to Senior Leadership
