We’ve created the only unbiased loan and insurance buying process out there, which makes finding options straightforward and clear.About the Role:We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sr. Accountant with Payroll experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the accounting department during the month-end, preparing General Ledger reconciliations, processing bi-weekly payroll, maintaining accurate employee records in Workday, and supporting HR with benefits-related tasks. This role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to work under tight deadlines, and a readiness to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesA senior GL accountant/payroll professional who will perform accounting and payroll-related tasks include but not limited to:• Prepare and post journal entries for balance sheet and income statement accounts• Prepare reconciliations for GL accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis• Assist with quarterly and yearly audit requests, as well as SOX related requests• Process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and completeness• Calculate payroll adjustments and retroactive payments• Ensuring compliance with payroll laws and process• Formulate payroll-related reports for management• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws through tax reporting and paymentsKnowledge of applicable Federal and State laws and regulations pertaining to the payroll process; the principles of payroll procedures, processing, reconciling, and accounting. Ability to comprehend payroll processing and procedures; plan and manage time effectively to meet payroll processing timelines; work independently in all assigned aspects of the computerized payroll processing; set up, compile, verify, and process payroll related data in the WD system; reconcile and transmit files and payments for taxes, deferred compensation and retirement plans, and garnishments; review and analyze payroll reports for issues, and make necessary adjustments; reconcile payroll general ledger accounts and process journal entries to record activity.Education and Certifications• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a similar major is required• A master’s in accounting or MBA is preferred• Must have at least 3 years’ experience in accounting or financeOther SkillsWorkday, Google Suite, and Microsoft OfficeCredible is open to hiring candidates in the following locations: Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, WisconsinPursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay ranges for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location, are listed below.
