Medical Records Specialist

The Medical Records Specialist helps pioneer the transformation of record retrieval from faxing to digital medical records retrieval. Qualities supporting success in this role include a basic understanding of electronic health record systems, an eye for detail, and an ability to learn and change processes as necessary.

• Facilitate the digital retrieval of medical records and monitor the progress of retrieval efforts
• Deliver records to client EHR systems in accordance with outlined SLA’s
• Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders; seeking out and disseminating information to those who need to know while proactively providing status updates
• Support efficiency and continuous improvement in operational processes by sharing process insights with other stakeholders on the team

• Associates degree or higher, plus at least two years professional experience handling patient information, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Familiarity with HIPAA standards
• Detail oriented
• Strong focus on tactical execution
• High level of comfort and experience using technology such as G-Suite, Slack, Zoom, and technical savvy to quickly learn and master new technologies
• Ability to adapt to and thrive in a startup environment; seamlessly shifting between processes as needed
