We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to lead and execute a comprehensive talent strategy at our Salinas, CA location. In this role, you will build strong relationships with site leaders, teams, and regional business leadership to achieve our site objectives. This site-based, generalist position serves a diverse population of union and non-union employees, offering an opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization.About the RoleAs an HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for a wide range of human resources functions. You will act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the business, providing guidance and support on all HR-related matters to ensure compliance and drive organizational success.Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Strategy & HR Management• Oversee day-to-day HR operations, including employee and labor relations, incident investigations, corrective action planning, recruitment, training, policy implementation, total rewards & benefits, legal compliance, organizational development, talent management, and performance management.• Collaborate with business and functional leaders to provide comprehensive HR services, offering counseling, coaching, and guidance while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.Employee & Labor Relations• Work closely with management and the union on incident investigations, corrective actions, grievance processes, and drafting agreements as needed.• Lead union contract negotiations ahead of contract expirations.• Implement new policies and procedures, ensuring understanding and compliance across the site.• Coordinate site-specific communications, such as exit interviews, new hire surveys, and focus groups; analyze feedback to improve workplace processes.• Drive employee engagement initiatives in collaboration with local employees, site managers, and the broader HR team.Legal Compliance• Interpret and ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, EEO, Workers' Compensation) and company policies.• Serve as a knowledgeable advisor on company policies and procedures.Diversity & Inclusion• Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives, developing programs, policies, and strategies to address identified opportunities.• Collaborate with HR and management teams to develop both long-term and short-term D&I priorities.• Partner across the organization to support and enhance diversity and inclusion efforts.Performance Management• Work with Learning & Development and leadership on performance management activities for non-union employees.• Provide ongoing guidance on performance-related matters for all employees.• Assist leadership with performance improvement plans when necessary.• Model effective feedback practices and encourage a culture of open communication.Projects, Culture & Climate Initiatives• Advocate for a positive site environment, identifying opportunities to enhance culture and employee engagement.• Proactively address employee engagement issues in partnership with management.Recruitment, Selection & Onboarding• Partner with leadership on recruitment processes, including job description finalization, sourcing, interviewing, selection, and onboarding of top talent.• Develop and execute workforce development plans to meet organizational needs.Administration & Support• Perform additional HR functions, projects, and support tasks as needed.Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.• Minimum of 5 years of HR experience.• Proven labor relations experience in a union environment is essential.• Ability to translate metrics, research, feedback, and trends into strategic and impactful solutions.• Strong knowledge of U.S. local, state, and federal employment laws and compliance requirements.• Familiarity with current and progressive HR principles and practices.What We Offer• Competitive salary ranging from $85,000 to $115,000, commensurate with experience, education, and skill level.• Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.• Opportunity to make a significant impact on talent strategy and employee engagement.• Collaborative and inclusive work environment that values diversity and innovation.How to ApplyIf your experience aligns with the qualifications and you are ready to contribute to our team's success, please submit your resume detailing your relevant experience and interest in this position.
