POSITION DETAILS

The Production Planner develops, monitors, and adjusts production schedules to meet internal goals and client delivery expectations, and ensures materials are aligned with the production schedule.  This position is a key cross-functional partner to the Operations and Client teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain production schedules, considering factors such as machine capacity, labor availability, and material availability to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
  • Report and analyze production data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement, implement corrective actions as necessary, and reduce lead times.
  • Collaborate with the Materials team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components to support production schedules within the receiving schedule.
  • Monitor raw material inventory levels to meet production demands while minimizing excess inventory and stockouts.
  • Create and prioritize work orders for stock production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, materials, and shipping to optimize production processes and maximize efficiency.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven experience in production scheduling and planning, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Netsuite preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and equipment preferred.
  • Ability to adapt with the needs of the business.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

The essential functions of this position frequently require the team member to use hands or fingers to lift, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms. The team member is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds. This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protectors and work boots.
