Audit & Assurance Operations Assistant Director

The role of the Audit Operations Assistant Director is to provide a strategic business partner for the Regional Leader and the Cost Center leaders within their region to improve the overall performance, operational effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency of the group. The position requires extensive communication with the Regional Leader, Cost Center leaders, Operations Executive, Finance Leader and other key resources within the Business Unit to drive results. The Audit Operations Assistant Director needs to have strong organizational, planning and project management skills with the ability to continuously prioritize multiple projects.

POSITION FUNCTIONS:

Financial:

  • Financial Management: Preparing and monitoring the Region revenue budget, including associated cost and expenses. Developing monthly forecasts, while working with the practice leaders to analyze results, identify trends, and advise recommendations.
  • Partner with the Cost Center Leaders focusing on the financial areas of our business, including monthly review of the Cost Center Revenue model, forecast and financial reporting.
  • Understand the Industry Verticals within the market and work with leadership to execute on building required skillsets to support the market growth.
  • Understand impact of pending sales and ensure inclusion in Forecast and Retain in a proactive manner.

Resource Management:

  • Oversee Resource Management function within the Region, as well as supervise member(s) of the scheduling team.
  • Provide guidance in the escalation path brought forth by Senior Resource Coordinators.
  • Review and analyze capacity to facilitate increased productivity within the market. Make on-going strategic recommendations to leadership based on findings.

People Management:

  • Translate current and future business needs to develop an integrated strategic workforce plan. Prepare Workforce Plan and recommendations around experienced and campus recruiting goals, as well as incorporating skillset deficiencies and succession planning.
  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
    • Coordinating the campus and experienced hire processes between the firmwide teams and practice leaders.
    • Oversee the onboarding process and ensure new hires are fully integrated into the firm.
  • Manage the integration process for experienced hires.
  • Assess all training needs within the Region and ensure the appropriate resources obtain the training needed.
  • People Engagement: Assess feedback received from our internal people engagement survey and work with our practice leaders to develop and report on action plans.
  • Identify and provide insight to performance related issues and concerns as well as others that are exceeding expectations.
  • Talent Development: Assist with the development and execution of the overall learning and upskilling strategy for the Region & Cost Centers.
  • Manage Talent Meetings

Business Strategy:

  • Serve as liaison between leadership and other client service professionals to better understand needs that exist throughout the business unit and work with leadership to identify ways to resolve them.
  • Search for ways to improve existing operational processes and outputs and provide strategic thought leadership to the business.
  • Understand external trends and issues in the industry that could potentially impact the business.
  • Create work plans/timelines, manage/report on progress and initiate efforts/drive results of large projects.
  • Manage and lead through business, technology, and organizational changes.
  • Team with firm-wide peers, sharing and implementing best practices.
  • Gain deep knowledge of the people and organizational needs, diagnose issues, and recommend solutions to complex challenges.

Ideal Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate for this role has:
    • A proven track record for problem-solving.
    • Curious and willing to learn new activities.
    • Strong leadership and project management skills to drive functions and ensure activities and tasks are completed as expected.
    • Experience in client service delivery is a plus.
    • 8+ years of experience
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business, or similar significant work experience
    • Experience working within an entrepreneurial setting or within a setting that supported rapid growth, constant change, and marketing agility.
