The OpportunityThe Director will assist the Head of the Technology Office in developing and executing plans for our AI Platform to meet scalability, security, and goal alignment requirements.The RoleTechnical Expertise• Utilize skills in AI/ML to create and execute models and algorithms by applying sophisticated concepts, structures, and platforms. Apply expertise in widely-used coding languages and tools to propel AI initiatives forward.• Experience working with artificial intelligence platforms and products: creating, building, or overseeing AI systems such as cloud-based solutions from providers like AWS, Azure, or Google, featuring both expansive and compact language models, whether accessible to the public or limited.• Mastery of data engineering abilities: Creating, constructing, and upkeeping data pipelines, applying data processing methods, and overseeing data storage solutions for artificial intelligence tasks.• Utilize software engineering principles to maximize the scalability of AI solutions through the effective implementation of software development lifecycle, DEVOPS strategies, and testing approaches.Leadership and Management• Strategic thinking involves ensuring that AI initiatives are in harmony with broader team objectives and converting them into practical plans.• Foster collaboration and guidance within AI groups, encouraging a dynamic atmosphere of creativity and knowledge sharing.• Foster cross-departmental teamwork by engaging with stakeholders and leaders from various business sectors.• Project management involves overseeing partnerships, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery of AI projects, and handling resources and potential risks efficiently.Strategic Vision• Stay knowledgeable about the current developments and progressions in artificial intelligence technology to recognize potential advantages and challenges.• Narrating a tale: This entails presenting the concepts of vision and journey in a captivating style.• Emphasize innovation: Promote trial and discovery of cutting-edge AI methods to gain a competitive edge.• When it comes to ethical considerations, it is crucial to recognize the potential impacts of artificial intelligence on ensuring that AI development and implementation are done in a responsible and equitable manner.• AI Champion, its capabilities, and the strategic plan we have outlined with our collaborators.• Keep yourself informed about the newest developments in artificial intelligence and machine learning through ongoing research.• Convey intricate AI ideas to non-technical team members to foster understanding, encourage uptake, and spark enthusiasm.Vendor Management:• Accountable for the contractual possession of artificial intelligence technology suppliers.• Oversee vendor connections and guarantee that performance criteria and contractual responsibilities are fulfilled.Financial Management:• Accountable for overseeing a budget exceeding $10 million for an artificial intelligence and cloud platformTeam Leadership:• Manage a team of skilled IT experts to achieve top performance.• Cultivate an environment that encourages innovation, teamwork, and ongoing enhancement.Your Abilities and Background• A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, mathematics, or a related field at the university level is required• A master's degree and associated credentials are considered advantageous• Possessing over a decade of pertinent experience in the field of Information Technology• At least four years of experience in a managerial role or a proven track record of exhibiting leadership qualities.• Handling IT projects in an international setting involves overseeing technological initiatives across different regions.• Desirable experience includes working in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated industry• Experience in solution architecture, specializing in cloud services like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.• Interact with a diverse range of stakeholders, both those with technical expertise and those without.• Proven track record in executing comprehensive roadmaps for cloud environments.• Proven track record in handling LLM models effectively.• Having familiarity with DevOps and experience in ML/AI engineering is advantageous.The salary range for this position upon hiring is anticipated to be between $190,000 and $260,000. It is important to acknowledge that these salary figures represent the lowest and highest amounts that CSL intends to offer for this role at the specific location at the time of this announcement. The specific base pay for a qualified applicant is established based on their credentials, expertise, background, capabilities, and other pertinent elements.
