The Role

We are looking for a Product Architect who thrives on working in a fast-paced, highly flexible environment. The Product Architect understands business challenges, translates them into detailed product, solution and technical requirements, defines an approach and supports delivery teams with successful implementation.

The Product Architect will work in a high performing Architecture Team, providing business and technical expertise to Cubic³ Product, Business, Engineering and Executive teams, contributing to Cubic³’s product strategy and developing architectures to realise strategic aims.

The role includes a wide range of activities ranging from customer engagements, scoping, design, solutioning and support to product and technology strategy. Become a driving force in the next stage of development and growth of Cubic³ as the leading Automotive and IoT connectivity solution provider.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Has expert understanding of Cubic³’s products and solutions as well as all underlying enabling technologies across at least IT and wireless
  • Contribute to technical analysis activities, such as requirements gathering and product gap analysis of customer requirements
  • Ensure that proposed engineering architectures and designs fulfil products and customer solution objectives and that they are according to best practices and are optimal
  • Manage involvement of other SMEs (e.g. Wholesales, SIM, Network, Software, Product Owners) and make sure their design contributions meet system architecture functional and non-functional requirement
  • Drive excellence in execution through continuous improvement & Lean mindset (best practices and reference material - reference architectures, reference solutions)
  • Participate in knowledge capitalization and dissemination across the design community across departments
  • Support strategic customer engagements
  • Continuous technical and technology expertise

Basic Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, IT, Information Systems or Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of product management experience, with Software background and including SaaS
  • Minimum of 6 years related work experience designing and implementing mission critical software applications or systems.
  • Alternatively equivalent work experience designing and implementing mission critical cellular network applications or systems
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with team members, customers, and leadership
  • Influences and energizes others toward the common vision and goal
  • Ability to focus on the critical business outcomes and drive teams to achieving these goals
  • Ability to be involved in multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work well with multiple vendors and customers during any project implementation
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture patterns, especially on meeting performance, scalability, and security goals. Working knowledge of designing scalable and highly distributed solutions, utilizing cloud and containerization technologies
  • Capability to quickly adjust expectations, with focus on customer outcomes
  • Willingness to accept and promote change
  • Ability to quickly learn and acquire deep understanding of new technologies
  • Demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions
  • Knowledge & experience in microservices architecture and web services (SOAP, REST)
  • Knowledge & experience in cellular network architectures (3G, 4G, 5G)
  • Passion for and understanding of how IoT systems work from end nodes to cloud to application software, with special focus on wireless technologies
  • Is able to dive deep and is never out of touch with the details of the business AND the technology
  • Good presentation skills using tools such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create excellent working relationships with diverse teams and job functions throughout the organization; especially proven respect for and track record successfully working with designers and developers
  • This position requires international travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience delivering enterprise software products and services in a high growth environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners
  • High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired
  • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
  • Understanding of Automotive and IoT markets, its competitive and value chain dynamics, and the underlying economics would be a plus
