Job TitleAccounts Payable CoordinatorJob Description SummaryThe Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for performing accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions. This position involves verifying invoices, processing payments, reconciling vendor statements, and maintaining accurate records of accounts payable activity. Additionally, this position provides administrative/clerical support for the Property Managers and office as needed.Job DescriptionESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Verify invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies• Process payments in a timely and accurate manner• Maintain accurate records of accounts payable activity• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies• Research and answer vendor inquiries• Assist with month-end closing activities• Develop and maintain filing systems• Provide administrative support for Management Office as neededKEY COMPETENCIES• Communication Proficiency (oral/written)• Customer Focus (internal/external)• Organization Skills• Interpersonal Skills• Initiative• Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environmentIMPORTANT EDUCATIONA minimum of an Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school plus two years of related experience; a four-year degree is preferred.IMPORTANT EXPERIENCEUnderstanding of general accounting and financing principles is necessary. Working knowledge of account payables, receivables, budgets, and expenditure control is also needed.• Prior experience with automated accounting systems is preferred; prior working experience with YARDI system is a plus.• Must have ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.• Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.• Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite• Ability to give and take direction and to interface with decision makers in a professional manner and maintain confidential information.WORK ENVIRONMENTThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
