Our Custodial Staff members are an essential part of Adams State University’s success. Maintaining the cleanliness of our facilities is crucial to providing a safe, comfortable, fully functional, and aesthetically pleasing campus environment that is conducive to teaching, learning, living, and creating the best possible experience for our students, faculty, staff and visitors to our campus.
Custodial positions at Adams State University provide custodial support in various assigned areas on campus. The custodial staff is responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of nearly all interior spaces on the Adams State Campus.
Specific duties consist of servicing housing, academic and auxiliary buildings by disinfecting and sanitizing restrooms, bathrooms/showers, and carpet. Additional services include hard surface maintenance, sweeping, mopping, dusting, windows, removal of trash/debris, moving furniture, cleaning kitchens (including stoves, refrigerators, vents, sinks and cabinets, closets), special events support, recycling within the buildings and entryway/walkway snow removal just to name a few. The goal of our custodial staff is to always strive toward a clean and pleasant environment.

Education and Experience:
Six months of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.

A successful candidate will demonstrate responsible professional conduct at all times; will be punctual and observe scheduled work hours; will not abuse leave and will follow call-in procedures. Applicants must be:
Able to read and understand the labels on cleaning materials, warning signs, Safety Data
Sheets and to effectively communicate with campus faculty and staff. Willing to work different shifts (day and/or night), including weekends and Holidays.
Must be willing and able to meet the demands of the job which includes frequent bending, occasional lifting of approximately 50 pounds and standing for extensive durations.
