Job Description:
At CoBank, our Customer Derivatives Analyst executes the bank’s customer derivative strategy by ensuring efficient origination of interest rate and foreign currency hedges in a regulatory and policy compliant manner. Performs analysis in partnership with business line and credit representatives to facilitate timely and high-quality delivery of service. Ensures customer derivative transactions are executed and documented in compliance with established policies and procedures. Embraces and actively contributes to a culture of continual improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supports hedging analysis for customers by conducting analytical reviews of customer balance sheets, assessing debt usage and interest rate sensitivity, and applying hedge strategies to manage risk.

Develops and utilizes tools and models to assist in the structuring and pricing of derivative products to determine swap rates, markups, anticipated returns and for analysis, special projects, and presentations.
- Assists in credit underwriting for customers. Prepares the derivative section of credit reports, including market to market, rate sensitivity and exposure information for both current and forecasted derivative portfolios. Performs initial assessments of ISDA documentation.

Works with customers and internal partners to coordinate internal pre-trade processes and checklist completion through legal, credit and compliance with customers.

Tracks the status of transactions in the pipeline and provides ongoing status updates

Prepares presentations to supports customer marketing efforts.
- Prepares profitability reports and other analyses for internal use.

Verifies accuracy and consistency of official trade records against internal/external confirmations.

Keeps abreast of market conditions, industry trends, and competitive environment. Assists in the development of new business and participates in meeting and other activities as assigned

Participates in special projects, and performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or relevant discipline
- One (1) year of experience in banking or financial services industry

Proficiency with financial and mathematical fundamentals.
- Knowledge of credit underwriting preferred.

Compensation Information

Estimated Base Salary Range: $65,000-$85,000

Target short-term incentive opportunity: 9%
