Customer Service Officer - YMCA Stanthorpe

The Y Queensland operates fitness clubs across South East Queensland and has been providing gymnastics, group fitness and aquatic facilities to local communities for over forty years. Our history as an organisation has a shared purpose of empowering young people in Brisbane since 1864, with our fitness centres offering empowerment, connection and belonging to people at all stages of life.

Thanks to an exciting new development along Queensland’s Granite Belt in conjunction with The Southern Downs Regional Council, the YMCA has been engaged to manage the Stanthorpe Fitness and Aquatic Centre’s operations, opening dozens of new employment opportunities for this picturesque region! We are now recruiting Customer Service Officers to join the team on a casual basis at the new YMCA Stanthorpe Fitness Centre.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the first point of contact for the centre, your passion for helping people and ability to make others feel welcome will be integral to your success in this role. Those with a genuine interest in fitness, gymnastics and aquatics will thrive in this fast-paced and exciting position as you assist customers with their general enquiries, organise memberships, take bookings and promote the programs and services on offer.

• Provide expert and friendly service at reception, over the phone and in all written correspondence
• Process new memberships and promote information on the facility, classes and other general enquiries
• Make bookings and process payments
• Perform open and close procedures, cash reconciliations and banking duties

ABOUT YOU

Flexible availability is essential to accommodate changing business needs, including weekend and after-hours availability.

• Previous experience in a similar role

• Demonstrated ability to perform a range of administrative duties, including data and word processing, filing and photocopying, with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Familiarity with POS systems and MS suite
• A National Police Check is essential prior to commencing in the role
