At Yugabyte, we are on a mission to become the default transactional database for the cloud. We are well underway on this journey with YugabyteDB, the open source, high-performance, distributed SQL database that runs on any cloud and enables developers to get instantly productive using well-known APIs. We announced a $188M Series C round at a $1.3B valuation in October 2021, however we very much believe we are still in the early stages of our company’s journey. The transactional database market is estimated to grow from $40B in 2021 to $64B by 2025. Given our database is cloud-native by design, has on-demand horizontal scalability, and allows for geographical distribution of data using built-in replication, we are extremely well-positioned to address the market need for geo-distributed, high-scale, high-performance wordloads.

As a Senior Customer Success Manager supporting our West Region, you will be responsible for driving technical and business outcomes across key areas of the customer journey. This includes customer onboarding, engagement management, adoption, and operationalizing of YugabyteDB.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Work alongside other Yugabyte account team members to facilitate alignment on customer goals, drive collaboration on account team planning and proactively align Yugabyte resources to customer needs.
  • Become conversationally proficient with Yugabyte technologies to the depth needed to understand customer requirements, explain fit of existing or new Yugabyte features/functions and be technically credible.
  • Guide and direct Yugabyte/Customer engagement efforts ensuring the alignment of delivery to technical and business objectives.
  • Triage and escalate customer technical issues to appropriate Yugabyte teams with context and appropriate urgency.
  • Enable post-sales activity with customers through deep understanding of customer needs and goals, customer relationships, planning and execution.
  • Establish and own cadence of communication with internal and external stakeholders

Required Experience

  • Customer focused team player with a proactive mindset to drive the success of Yugabyte customers and the adoption of Yugabyte technology.
  • Successful track record of building business aligned successes and required strategies with customers.
  • Successful track record of driving product adoption and expansion through customer aligned account management, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Successful track record of working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Proactive and detailed follow-through on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to identify and manage influencers through building consensus and alignment of Yugabyte technology and resources to customer business needs.
  • Experience with value discovery, value frameworks and tracking customer engagements to customer value metrics.
  • Technical knowledge of database management systems.
  • Technical knowledge of database modernization and migration patterns and projects.

We feel strongly about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one way to help achieve that. The cash compensation for this role is market competitive, with a range of $150,000-$190,000, as well as equity (when applicable), and benefits including health plans, retirement plans, and unlimited paid time off (PTO). Some roles include variable/incentive compensation, or a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. The pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The actual pay will vary based on factors including experience, qualifications, and skill level.
