Liberty Healthcare operates a program in the District of Columbia which serves people who are applying for publicly-funded long term care supports and services. The goal of this program is to enable people to receive the support services they need to live as independently as possible – while applying a valid, reliable and quality assessment process to prevent Medicaid fraud, waste and abuse.

A full-time “Customer Support Specialist” position is now available with Liberty’s program. This position is based in Liberty’s office located 1201 15thStreet NW in the District of Columbia.

Customer Support Specialists assist in the eligibility determination process and provide valuable customer service support to consumers, health and human service providers and other stakeholders. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Providing assistance and accurate information to individuals and their families
  • Assisting individuals with their applications and eligibility determinations for long term care support services
  • Scheduling appointments for members of the program’s professional staff to conduct assessments in the consumer’s homes
  • Referring consumers to qualified health and human service providers in their local communities
  • Interfacing with health and human service providers
  • Receiving and processing a phone, email, fax and mail requests
  • Data entry activities
  • Communicating time-sensitive updates to consumers and providers via phone, email, fax and mail
  • Utilizing computer software and other office technology to optimize the efficiency of the program’s services
  • Successfully resolving a multitude of complex customer services issues

This position offers hourly compensation of $20.43 (approximately $42,500 per year) plus benefits.

You are a good fit for this position if you possess these attributes:

  • High school diploma, Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in a call center or customer service setting
  • Healthcare or human services industry experience
  • Knowledge of healthcare enrollment, eligibility determination and/or Medicaid services
  • Strong computer skills - including the Microsoft office suite
  • Willingness to occasionally flex your work week to include Saturdays and Sundays
  • Amharic and/or Spanish-speaking skills are highly desirable
