We want everyone who works at CVS Health to feel empowered by the role they play in transforming our culture and accelerating our ability to innovate and deliver solutions to make health care more personal, convenient and affordable.Position SummaryThe Care Management Analytics (Care Mgmt Analytics) Senior Data Scientist will have the ability to tell a data driven story of value by developing new analytic tools for evaluation and visualization as it relates to program value evaluation, identifying opportunities, contractual reporting needs, issue resolution, capabilities, and stabilization. The Senior Data Scientist will be a part of a growing team to support various care management analytic activities as an individual contributor.• Use a consultative approach when providing recommendations and solutions to drive successful outcomes and build a data driven story of value, engage with internal and external stakeholders to obtain a true understanding of requirements to support both business decision making and client requests• Develop, validate, and execute algorithms and predictive models in evaluate program performance, identify targeting opportunities, detect patterns to uncover areas for program improvement, and use the information learned to demonstrate program value and recommend solutions to business partners• Use data visualization tools and techniques to effectively and efficiently communicate analytic findings to support business decisions and client reporting needs• Explore, understand, and interpret sophisticated data environments, applying tools such as machine learning and natural language processing to analyze petabytes of data• Perform analyses of structured and unstructured data to inform advanced statistical and mathematical analyses• Creates and evaluates the data needs of assigned projects, explores existing data, and recommends additional sources of data for improvements, and assures the integrity of the data through root cause analysis• Documents projects including business objectives, data gathering and processing, detailed set of results and analytical metrics• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior colleagues• *This role will be a remote position. The ideal time difference from East Coast time is 0-2 hours.**Must be able to travel up to 10%. Travel may require but is not limited to flights, overnight stays, local travel, travel on short notice and other travel deemed necessary by the Company.Required Qualifications• 4 plus years SQL experience or other relative programming experience (e.g. Python, R)• Working experience of applying epidemiology study design knowledge and/or strong statistical background knowledge to projects• Demonstrate working knowledge of in-depth statistical methodologies, sophisticated database management and data sciencePreferred Qualifications• Master’s Degree or PhD preferred• 5 plus years SQL experience or other relative programming experience in the context of applications such as Tableau, Teradata, Hadoop, Snowflake, Google Cloud BigQuery, Python, R• 4 plus years Healthcare data analytics experience• 4 plus years experience working in a professional environment with clients/partners including Reconciliation, Program Value Evaluation, and Root Cause Analysis• 3 plus years of experience in a client facing role• 3 plus years utilizing machine learning and natural language processing tools Solid understanding of study design to advise analytic decisions to assess program value• Proven familiarity with historical and randomized control trial methodology• Advanced knowledge of Tableau• Proven track record utilizing documentation/version control tools like GitHub• High level of attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting priorities as needed and meeting deadlines• Ability to quickly develop knowledge and understanding of new domains and underlying data sources• Comfortable providing guidance to junior analysts and training new hiresEducationRequired: Bachelors Degree with concentration in Information Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Analytics, Epidemiology or other programming and data related fields of studyPreferred: Master’s Degree with concentration in Information Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Analytics, Epidemiology or other programming and data related fields of studyPay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:$83,430.00 - $222,480.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.In addition to your compensation, enjoy the rewards of an organization that puts our heart into caring for our colleagues and our communities.
